Maintaining Leather Sofas

Leather is a natural product and has natural characteristics which make the sofa unique. There may be minor variations in the leather texture and minor wrinkling at certain points. We make every effort to minimise the wrinkles however this is inherent to a leather sofa and confirmation that you have bought a genuine hide leather sofas,  not an imitation.

Leather Care

Leather has a timeless appeal and durability , making it a good choice for upholstery. All leather however requires care to maintain its elegance and long life.

To achieve this its to follow a few simple do's and don'ts:

Do

Use your sofa responsibly and avoid sitting on the edges of the arms or cushions as this may cause distortion after a prolonged period.

Keep your leather free from dust and dirt.

Use a soft untreated cloth and/or vacuum with a soft brush attachment and use a leather protections cream to create a barrier and prevent or minimise stains and dirt. This will also improve the durability and help keep the leather soft and supple.

If you have a recliner please take care of the opening and closing of reclining mechanisms. Never exit the seat when the recliner is still up as this can twist the mechanism which is intended for legs and feet, not full body weight.

NB: Its normal to see some gaps between sections as this allows free movement and avoids excessive abrasion.

Don't

Expose your furniture for prolonged periods to direct sunlight or place your furniture close to a radiator or similiar heat source.

Use detergents or chemicals to clean your leather other than proper leather cleaner. Detergents may damage your leather and result in expensive repairs. Use only products recommended by Delux Deco Ltd.
